The Bowling Green Buccaneers will be out of their comfort zone Friday night as they travel to Centreville, Miss. to take on the powerful Centreville Academy Bulldogs in a Class AA match up.

Betty Ann Tynes

Betty Ann Tynes, 42, born June 2, 1970 in Bogalusa, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Wilkinson County Senior Care. She was a resident of Centreville, Miss. and a former resident of Bogalusa.

She was of the Baptist faith.She is survived by her mother, Mazie Tynes of Centreville and formerly of Bogalusa; sisters, Hettie Tynes of Centreville and Pauline Seals and husband Mike of Bogalusa; brothers, David Tynes and wife Margaret of Petal, Miss. and Gary Tynes of Pearl, Miss.; and two nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Tynes.

A private family service will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at Newman Funeral Home at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Fred Day. Interment will follow at Crain Cemetery.

Centreville sweeps Buccaneers

Centreville sweeps Buccaneers | The Daily News | Bogalusa, LA

Bowling Green School was swept by Centreville Academy in a MAIS District 6-2A three-game series last week.

The Buccaneers fell 19-3 on Tuesday at Jerry Rayborn Field in Franklinton and 9-1 twice on Friday in Mississippi.

Bowling Green now sits at 3-6 in district play with one more series against Silliman Institute this week. The Tigers are ranked No. 1 in one Class 2A poll with a 14-1 record. Central Private, who Bowling Green fell 2-1 in a district series, is ranked No. 2 with 14-3 record.

In the first game with Centreville, Cruz Serigne and C.K. Creel were each 1-for-3 with a double and RBI. Keith Paul Dufren was also 1-for-3 with a RBI. Serigne, Kasey King, Drew Sandifer and Thomas LeBlanc pitched for Bowling Green.
